- ➤ The Medium will host the first Visual Art Night of the year on March 6, inviting residents to meet local artists. Additional events including theater performances, workshops, a kite festival, and a book discussion are scheduled in Northwest Arkansas from March 6 to March 8. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The state Department of Health reported six flu deaths last week as flu activity in Arkansas fell to moderate. A dashboard shows 61 seasonal flu deaths and 1,571 hospitalizations, with Pulaski County leading with 11 deaths from data collected Sept. 28 to Feb. 28. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Local high school teams delivered strong performances this week. Tuesday's soccer matches saw Springdale and Har-Ber trade wins while Bentonville and Fayetteville posted strong scores, and Monday featured a win by Shiloh Christian + a defeat for Springdale in girls soccer. - ➤ Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz, beloved for his 1977 Razorbacks season and his 1988 national title with Notre Dame, passed away Wednesday at 89 in home hospice care in Orlando, Fla.
