BUSINESS NEWS

  • Northwest Arkansas Outstanding Business Awards luncheon was held Tuesday, Mar. 10 in Springdale with about 250 attendees (sponsored by Arvest Bank). An independent panel announced winners in five business categories, and Kyle Parker received the new Business Impact Award; nominations for the 2027 awards are now open.  NWA Business Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Momentary announced that indie rock band Big Thief will perform on Wednesday, Aug. 19 in town. Tickets range from $37 for students to $62 for the public and go on sale at 10 a.m. on March 12 for members + at 10 a.m. on March 13 for non-members.  Fayetteville Flyer
  • Live Nation is planning the new Bentonville Ballroom at The Momentary to host over 100 concerts per year in Northwest Arkansas. The 2,500-seat indoor venue is set to open year-round in 2028 as the planning department reviews the proposal.  4029 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The state Plant Board chose not to update Arkansas regulations for dicamba herbicides on Tuesday—farmers will follow current rules until new federal labels are provided. No additional details were shared about the delay.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Freshman Darius Acuff Jr. swept major SEC awards—Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, All-SEC and All-Freshman—after averaging 22 points and 6 assists per game. The Razorbacks will advance into Friday’s SEC Tournament at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.  Fayetteville Flyer
  • The sixth-ranked Arkansas baseball team will open SEC play Friday night against the third-ranked Mississippi State, whose coach Brian O’Connor left Virginia after winning a national championship.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • Railfan Jeremiah Wingfield will board an Arkansas and Missouri Railroad train Saturday morning from Springdale to Winslow, passing Baum-Walker Stadium where each Razorback home run triggers a locomotive horn as fans prepare for the 2 p.m. game against Stetson.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
