- ➤ On Thursday afternoon, Arkansas submitted its request to the federal government to add a work requirement to the state's Medicaid expansion program—accompanying responses to comments in opposition to the proposal. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that after two decades of chronic prison bed shortages — which have forced violent offenders into under-equipped county jails and risky early releases — the state will build a new 3,000-bed prison in Franklin County to boost public safety. The state has set aside funds to start the project, and the Legislature must now appropriate the full cost. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
