- ➤ Fayetteville-based HTP Contractors is building several Wingstop restaurants in Northwest Arkansas for Vibe Restaurants Group. The company is constructing a new location in Springdale on West Sunset Avenue near Dairy Queen that will likely open in June — sites in Fort Smith and Fayetteville are expected to open in April after its Rogers restaurant opened last August. - ➤ Pierce The Veil will perform at the Walmart AMP as part of its I Can’t Hear You Tour later this year — the band is scheduled to play on Wednesday, Oct 15 with gates opening at 5 p.m. and music starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on April 4, costing between $35 and $100 plus fees. - ➤ Construction crews are busy in Northwest Arkansas as nine new hotels with over 1,100 rooms will open later this year, driven by rising tourism for sports, conventions and leisure. Bentonville and Fayetteville will see many of these hotels in walkable downtown areas — a sign of growth that local officials say will boost the local economy. 5 News

- ➤ On April 1, students from Lakeside Junior High and Sonora Elementary in Springdale spoke with astronauts on the International Space Station with help from the University of Arkansas—using a ham radio link and an antenna setup by the Amateur Radio Club. Fifteen students asked 20 questions and one ninth grader said the experience increased his interest in working in space. KNWA
