- ➤ John Anthony Cole, 48, a convicted murderer from Arizona, was arrested on April 7 in Fort Smith on charges of first-degree murder + other offenses for the fatal shooting of Jeremiah Tel Hawthorne on October 2; he pleaded not guilty on April 9 and will appear in court on April 14 to set his trial date. - ➤ A Springdale man pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing a machine gun and stealing a firearm from a car in Washington County Circuit Court Friday—his legal case continues under review. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
