  • On April 11, Girl Scouts held their third annual Camp 479 fundraiser at Heroncrest in Springdale where guests experienced camping activities and raised over $76,000. The funds will pay for membership fees, leader training, summer camp assistance — and support for Camp NOARK in Huntsville.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Crews worked to fix downed power lines on Sunset Avenue in Springdale on Saturday morning—after a possible tornado passed through Tontitown and Springdale. Police said power lines and trees blocked roads at Crain Buick GMC, near Kubota Tractor, and on the 1400 block of South Berrington Road in Tontitown—while no injuries were reported.  4029 News

  • Gravette’s Logan Miller added another win on Dec. 19 by pinning his Miami, Okla. opponent in Gravette — a victory that helped boost the NWADG boys wrestling team’s strong season performance.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • The Razorbacks lost back-to-back series after a record 12-game SEC win streak—first falling to Georgia and then 9-2 at home to Texas A&M after a 30-minute lightning delay in Fayetteville. Coach Dave Van Horn said the losses exposed his team's struggles with scoring as they now face tougher SEC matchups.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Samantha Graciano of Bentonville West was named All-NWADG Girls Wrestler of the Year on March 25th—she has had success both on and off the mat.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • University of Arkansas receivers coach Ronnie Fouch built a strong bond with receiver Robert Haynes IV (from Missouri City) who impressed at the Houston Under Armour Next Camp and got a scholarship offer on March 25. Haynes will make an official visit to Fayetteville during the June 13-15 weekend as his family looks forward to experiencing the campus and meeting the coaches.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
