- ➤ Walmart bought 43.71 acres of pasture next to the new Springdale Northern Bypass interchange in Tontitown for part of a $10.4 million deal with Five J Farms and Warehouse Space LLC—Walmart said it is exploring new opportunities without sharing more details. NWA Business Journal
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two 18-year-old men were arrested on Sunday in Springdale during an ongoing Camden homicide investigation when the Springdale SWAT team & police took Keegan Turner at a local residence and later caught Chris Arnold off site, with Turner facing charges including being an accomplice to first degree murder while both await extradition to Camden. - ➤ Bentonville man Andre Crawford, who was on probation for terroristic threatening and controlled substance charges after a plea deal in January, was arrested on April 27 for drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful distribution of sexual images or recordings, harassment and violation of a protection order. 5 News
- ➤ Two Florida residents pleaded guilty in Fayetteville federal court to defrauding a federal pandemic relief program by submitting false loan applications for their advertising company in Northwest Arkansas and misusing over $1.5 million in funds—including buying a home in Florida—while authorities estimate losses between $3.5 million and $9 million, and they now face further sentencing. - ➤ ARDOT has now set the finish date for phase two of the Springdale Northern Bypass to August 2027 after complicated utility moves delayed work on the nearly 7-mile Highway 612 segment from a July 2026 target. Contractor Emery Sapp & Sons Inc.—selected for the $180.78 million project that started in spring 2024—has continued work in other areas as relocated utilities from Springdale Water Utilities, Black Hills Energy, and Ozarks Electric are now complete.
