  • More than 1,500 Rogers customers lost power Tuesday morning when severe storms hit Northwest Arkansas. The Southwestern Electric Power Company reported the outage at 8:45 a.m.—power was restored by 9:32 a.m.  KNWA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Colombian Consulate in Houston will visit Springdale from Friday through Sunday at the Holiday Inn Hotel at 1500 S. 49th St.—they will host an open community meeting at 6 p.m. Friday and offer passport, citizenship card and other document services on Saturday—from 8:30 a.m.—4:30 p.m. and Sunday—from 8:30 a.m.—1:00 p.m.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Arkansas Department of Health reported the state's first case of measles contracted in Arkansas—raising the total cases since early April to four.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Arkansas Razorback baseball will host the No. 1 Texas Longhorns from Thursday through Saturday at Baum-Walker Stadium, with the opener set for 7 p.m. on ESPN2 and games on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. on SEC Network. Coach Dave Van Horn said the series will give the team a chance to regain momentum after recent SEC losses + energized home fans are expected to bolster the Razorbacks.  Fayetteville Flyer
