- ➤ At the Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour event on Beaver Lake on Thursday, pro angler Jeff Sprague of Point, Texas caught and released 27 bass weighing 51 lb, 15 oz, topping a field of 51 competitors. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Fifty-one top bass fishing anglers began competing yesterday at Prairie Creek Marina in Rogers for the Major League Fishing tournament at Beaver Lake using catch, weigh and release rules with a digital scoring system. The event offers a $125,000 prize and will run until Sunday (Bass Pro is hosting free-food watch parties on Saturday and Sunday). 4029 News
