  • Octapharma Plasma will open a new donation center on May 12 at 1303 S. Thompson St. in Springdale — a ribbon-cutting and a talk by an Immune Deficiency Foundation ambassador are planned. CULTURE NEWS

  • Walton Arts Center's Artosphere Festival offers free and low-cost art and music events through May 19, with a children's performance at the Jones Center in Springdale and concerts in Fayetteville for community members to enjoy.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Stephen Noonan’s 'the Boy & the Ball' is a 30-minute interactive play for children ages 3 to 5. It will run May 12-17 at Fayetteville Public Library, Bentonville Public Library and the Jones Center in Springdale with free admission upon registration.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • AAA Arkansas reports that gas prices rose to $3.87 a gallon on Saturday + the current average is up from $3.58 last week, with rates in the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers area at $3.83 and Fort Smith at $3.80.  4029 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Razorbacks, seeded No. 7, will play their first game at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the 2026 SEC Softball Tournament at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington and will face the winner of Tuesday’s Mississippi State versus Kentucky matchup with a potential quarterfinal against No. 2 Alabama scheduled for Thursday.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Arkansas women's basketball secured veteran transfer guard Kateri Poole today; Poole, a sixth-year guard from The Bronx who played for LSU during their championship season and who recently sustained injuries, becomes the Razorbacks' seventh transfer commit.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
