COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Adventure Subaru donated over $140,000 to local nonprofits last week, giving $70,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkoma and $76,000 to Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter. The checks were presented in late April at its Fayetteville store at 2269 N. Henbest Drive—part of Subaru’s annual Share the Love event.  Fayetteville Flyer
  • Local churches offer a range of community events this spring and summer. Vacation Bible School for children in kindergarten through fifth grade will run July 7-11 at First Presbyterian of Springdale, Bella Vista Lutheran Church will host its annual Rod and Custom Car Show today from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and BVCC will hold a summer arts & science camp July 14-18 with a $10 fee per child—other offerings include fitness classes, prayer fellowship and educational sessions at various churches.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • The former Stein Mart site on Cantrell Road will be renovated into a Dollar Tree and a 10 Fitness gym with $3 million in improvements—Dollar Tree work is set for fall and 10 Fitness for March 2026. America's Car-Mart announced CFO changes effective Monday with longtime CFO Vikie Judy moving to chief accounting, and the Arkansas Index closed Friday at 814.61 after Westrock Coffee Co. was added.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Recent real estate deals show strong market activity as 17 acres of Rogers pastureland known as Mills Farm sold for $4.49 million at $265,000 per acre—Hillcrest Holdings LLC led by Gary Nichols completed the purchase. Other deals include a 54-unit apartment complex in Springdale sold for $4.4 million, a 38-unit Fayetteville property sold for $3.8 million, and nearly 34,000 square feet of commercial buildings in Springdale sold for $3.5 million at $103 per square foot.  NWA Business Journal
  • On May 9, Blue Crane released plans for Hotel Sundry— a five-story, 124-room Hilton hotel at 203 E. Emma Avenue with an Italian restaurant, coffee shop, gym, and bike storage— that is scheduled to break ground later this month and open in 2027.  5 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • J.D. Beem’s RBI-single in the bottom of the eighth gave Gravette a 2-1 extra innings win over Dardanelle at Lion Field, sending the team to next week’s state tournament at Monticello—while the Gentry Pioneers clinched their first state berth since 2012 with a 9-2 win over Pottsville and will face Shiloh Christian at noon on Friday.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
