  • After a year of renovation, Devil’s Den horse camp reopened Wednesday with a new pavilion and larger sites that now accommodate RVs while keeping its historic campfire ring—an element that local riders value.   • Four Arkansas companies appeared in the latest Fortune 500 rankings released before today—Walmart at number 1, Tyson Foods at 85, Murphy USA at 231 and J.B. Hunt Transport Services at 348. Fortune ranks 500 firms by last year’s revenue with a threshold of $7.4 trillion.  KNWA

CRIME NEWS

  • An Elkins couple was arrested by Springdale police Wednesday for taking more than $400,000 from an elderly woman in their care—officials say the investigation is still active.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Benton County posted a 12.9% wage rise and placed 4th among 369 large counties while Washington County tied for 2nd with a 13.2% gain in the fourth quarter of 2024. Arkansas wages grew nearly 6% overall+ the state led its neighboring states in wage gains.  NWA Business Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A federal judge will soon decide if nonprofits can join a League of Women Voters lawsuit that says new state laws make it very hard to put measures on the ballot. Attorneys for the League and state officials oppose the nonprofits joining the case—if the motion is denied, the groups will file their own lawsuit.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • District judge Sarah Capp announced her candidacy for the Court of Appeals for District 3, Position 1 and plans to replace Robert J. Gladwin—who will not seek reelection—with an election scheduled for March 3rd, 2026; Capp, who oversees cases in Franklin and Johnson counties, has handled over 60,000 cases and supported programs to curb violent crime and drug abuse.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

  • A guide has ranked the top 10 Tex-Mex restaurants in Northwest Arkansas with choices in Bentonville, Bella Vista, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale (featuring both family-owned venues and lively chains).
