  • Megan Brown from Rogers, a Southwest Baptist University graduate, is director of operations for ULI Northwest Arkansas—she supports programs like the Small Cities Initiative—and will soon break ground on a new project with Rally Properties after over 15 years in banking and event management.  NWA Business Journal
  • R Solution, a group from St. Louis that invested over $15 million and secured $450,000 in development rights, filed a lawsuit in Washington County Circuit Court against Fayetteville-based Slim Chickens, saying the chain misled investors by overstating earnings and understating costs. The suit claims a switch from fresh to frozen products in early 2023 — which led to extra expenses and customer complaints — broke the franchise agreement, while Slim Chickens denies all allegations.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

CRIME NEWS

  • A Bentonville man—23-year-old Jay Simmermon—is facing charges of attempted murder and battery after he pushed his grandfather into a bonfire during a psychotic episode on June 14 while his grandfather suffered severe burns to 60 percent of his body, and he is held on a $150,000 bond with a court appearance set for July 21.  KNWA

  • The Jonas Brothers will headline the Greetings From Your Hometown Tour at Walmart AMP in Rogers on Aug 30, with gates opening at 6 p.m. and the concert starting at 7:30 p.m. Ticket presales start on June 19 at 10 a.m. + general sales open on June 20 at 10 a.m. with tickets ranging from $76.25 to $460.80 + the band will release a new single, 'No Time To Talk,' on June 20.  KNWA

SPORTS NEWS

  • Arkansas pitcher Gage Wood threw a no-hitter with 19 strikeouts on 119 pitches in the Razorbacks’ 3-0 win over Murray State on Monday—his achievement marked the third no-hitter in College World Series history and helped the team avoid elimination.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
