  • Northwest Arkansas National Airport set a new record in May when 117,821 passengers flew from its terminal—this exceeded the previous high of 109,923 from October. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Arkansas Board of Corrections hired attorney Abtin Mehdizadegan for a civil suit against Attorney General Tim Griffin, but the AG’s office said the board cannot choose its own lawyer—only the governor can make that decision. The board certified its need for outside counsel while facing issues over unpaid fees and allegations of breaking state procurement and open-records laws.  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
