- ➤ The Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission awarded over $16.6 million in federal funds for 21 regional transportation projects — funds that will boost mobility and safety in the region — with Springdale set to receive $3.77 million for Gene George Boulevard phase two, a 40th Street side path extension and smart school connections. - ➤ Springdale prosecuting attorney Brandon Carter announced Wednesday his intent to run for the Arkansas Court of Appeals District 3, Position 1 seat with the election scheduled for March 3. He was appointed by Gov. Sarah Sanders and brings experience as a deputy prosecutor and assistant U.S. attorney — qualifications he says will guide his work on the court.
