  • Organizers plan for Northwest Arkansas Pride to begin Friday at 6 p.m. on Dickson Street and expect record attendance after last year's crowd of more than 40,000, so safety will be ensured with ample police, barricades + road closures in place to protect everyone.  KNWA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tuesday night, the city council approved updated zoning rules that allow a new classification for RV parks to help meet short-term housing needs as Springdale's population grows—addressing the housing shortage. The revised ordinance sets clear standards for design and safety and requires a 200 foot buffer between parks and homes—protecting nearby neighborhoods.  5 News
  • Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced that the state will receive $44.5 million each year from Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family through 2040—one‑third will be managed by his office and the rest will go to municipalities and counties.  KNWA

  • Former Arizona outfielder and two-time NFCA All-American Dakota Kennedy has transferred to join head coach Courtney Deifel and the Razorbacks as the team’s second transfer signee via the portal—joining Cal infielder Tianna Bell who signed on June 17.  KNWA
  • U.S. Rep. Steve Womack honored University of Arkansas standout Bri Ellis in softball and Wehiwa Aloy in baseball on Wednesday—both players received 2025 national honors as top athletes from UA in their sports.  KNWA
  • U.S. Rep. Steve Womack honored top UA ball players on Wednesday, noting Bri Ellis earned USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year and Wehiwa Aloy was recognized as SEC Player of the Year and USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award winner—marking the first time UA athletes received top honors in both sports.  KNWA
