- ➤ Bentonville-based Heartland Forward announced on July 30 that Ross DeVol will shift to chairman emeritus as Angie Cooper takes over the nonprofit’s leadership to drive its work on economic growth and community health — DeVol will continue to offer guidance until the end of the year. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Monday and Tuesday, five individuals were arrested in Northwest Arkansas on charges including battery, sexual assault, domestic battery, forgery and drug plus firearm possession; each suspect is held without bond in detention centers in Benton and Washington counties, with Springdale's Angel Campos among those detained. - ➤ Tontitown will host its 126th annual Grape Festival from August 5 through August 9 on Henri De Tonti Boulevard — the festival will have carnival rides, a 5K walk/run, live music, grape stomps and spaghetti dinners, with free entry but some attractions require a fee — and it will end on Saturday with a grand prize giveaway. - ➤ NorthWest Arkansas Community College will host a Summer Youth Construction Camp on August 7 at the Integrated Design Lab at 1201 SE Eagle Way in Bentonville for students ages 12-17 to learn hands-on skills. The camp runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $65 with lunch and safety gear included—only 35 spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. KNWA

- ➤ Crews from ARDOT will install cable median barriers in August on highways across our state to reduce accidents — this work will cause inside lane closures affecting I-40, I-49, I-530, I-540, Highway 5, Highway 7, and Highway 167, and officials said exact schedules may change with weather. KNWA
