A report by Muck Rack and Rebuild Local News showed that the U.S. lost 75% of its local journalists over the past two decades—Arkansas ranked 19th nationally with some Northwest counties having more local journalists per 100,000 residents than many others.

The study used data from Jan. 1 to Mar. 31 to measure local reporting capacity in over 3,000 counties.
