- ➤ Tyson Foods, based in Springdale, reported its third quarter net income dropped to $61 million on Aug. 4, with adjusted earnings per share rising 5% to 91 cents and total revenue up 4% to $13.884 billion. The company raised its full-year sales guidance to between $54.38 billion and $54.91 billion and improved liquidity to $4 billion after reducing debt by $722 million+ its beef segment continued to struggle with operating losses amid high cattle prices. - ➤ Andrew James McGann, 28, of Springdale, is set for arraignment at 8 a.m. Aug. 14 at Washington County Detention Center—moved up from Aug. 25—for his arrest in connection with a double homicide at Devil’s Den State Park on July 26, where two adults were fatally stabbed while hiking. - ➤ Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art opened two new galleries as part of its expansion, one on campus and one at XNA in Highfill that shows rotating works from its permanent collection. The campus gallery features touchable displays and an outdoor garden, and the museum will move most of its art in late September. NWA Business Journal

Steve Womack visited Washington County on Monday to praise a new volunteer pilot for a residential substance abuse treatment program aimed at helping pre-trial inmates charged with non-violent crimes — an effort designed to reduce jail overcrowding. County leaders including Judge Patrick Deakins and local law enforcement manage the initiative — which hopes to serve as a model for similar reform efforts across the state. KNWA
