  • Kent Eikenberry, president and CEO of the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, announced he will retire in the second quarter next year after nearly 10 years of service. The board has begun its search for a new president—aiming for a smooth leadership transition and continued progress in fighting hunger.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Central States, a Tontitown-based manufacturer of metal building products, opened its 105,000-square-foot plant in Springdale on Aug. 7, which has created 50 jobs this year and is set to expand to up to 140 jobs with a second shift—using advanced welding systems and automated tools to produce steel frames for metal buildings.  NWA Business Journal
  • Rustic Ridge is a new RV park in Gentry that opened on September 22nd on 5 wooded acres—offering RV sites, cabins, and glamping tents with features like outdoor games, a camp store, and fire pits. CRIME NEWS

  • Vermont State Police reached out to Arkansas State Police about Springdale man Andrew McGann regarding a 2023 murder of 77-year-old Honoree Fleming, but officials confirmed no link to the July 26 Devil's Den attack where McGann now faces two capital murder charges—he was arrested on July 30 and his next court date is set for August 14.  5 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lisa Parks said on Thursday she is running for the 4th Judicial District prosecuting attorney seat covering Washington and Madison counties and will use her seven years at the Department of Human Services and 17 years as a public defender to fight violent crime. The election will happen on March 3, 2026, when current Prosecutor Brandon Carter runs for the appellate court (and Chief Deputy Prosecutor Denis Dean is also running).  Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
