- ➤ State Police investigated after a pedestrian was struck and killed on Arkansas 187 near Nightingale Road north of Eureka Springs early Saturday, with the victim pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m.—officers are asking for help in locating a white Chevrolet pickup truck involved. - ➤ Little Rock native Eden Boles, a 21-year-old biology major, was named Miss Howard University for the 2025-26 school year and will be crowned on Oct. 19 at the school’s Washington, D.C., campus — a title earned after a competitive pageant and campaign that highlighted her Arkansas roots. She will complete her senior year and plans to attend medical school while pursuing a master’s in public health after graduation. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
