- ➤ On Sept. 4, 2025, state and federal law enforcement including Springdale Police made several drug trafficking arrests during Operation Take Back America—six people were federally indicted and five face state charges from a probe that began in 2023 and has led to 23 arrests. KNWA
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Springdale School Board approved buying a property near Westwood Elementary — a purchase that will help with plans for a replacement building and future projects in the district. Officials say the move will support the school’s growth. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A report from The Recycling Partnership recommends that Northwest Arkansas double its recycling investment from $26M to $53M over the next five years to boost curbside participation and reduce landfill waste—proposing measures like replacing bins with carts and upgrading collection trucks. - ➤ UAMS Northwest opened its new ALS clinic in Fayetteville on Thursday with a ribbon cutting that marked the start of expanded care for patients from Northwest Arkansas and neighboring states—led by Dr. Rohit Dhall, the clinic offers a full range of treatments to manage the disease.
