- ➤ The Monarch Flight Festival will return Saturday, September 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Downtown Springdale at Luther George Park. Families will enjoy interactive activities and creative workshops — the first 1,000 families to arrive will receive butterfly wings. KNWA
- ➤ Nonprofit Cobblestone Farms will host its largest annual fundraiser Cultivating Community Dinner from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept 18 at Barn at the Springs in Springdale—featuring area chefs and community leaders with seasonal ingredients sourced from the nonprofit to help combat food insecurity. Tickets will cost $150 per person and the event is presented by Fresh Cravings. NWA Business Journal

- ➤ American farmers faced a dire economic crisis—the worst since the 1980s—when U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Gov. Sarah Sanders spoke to 450 attendees at a meeting in Rogers on Monday morning. They said lower market prices and rising costs have squeezed the farm economy, and direct emergency payments for relief will be proposed to Congress this fall. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Community members in Springdale can join a live chat on freedom of speech this Wednesday from noon to 1:15 p.m. NWACC professor Matt Evans will moderate the talk with Haley Gluhanich—an attorney with the Foundation for Individual Rights of Expression—to explain First Amendment rights on college campuses. - ➤ Northwest Arkansas Community College is offering fall community classes with one-time workshops including a baking session with Chef Ana Saenz on Wednesday and an oil-free cooking class with Dr. Michael Henderson on Sept. 29 for participants 14 and older. The college will also host design classes—Make Your Own Ceramic Spooky Kitty on Oct. 2 for kids 8 and up and a farmhouse coffee table workshop on Oct. 18 for families—that provide hands-on projects. - ➤ At a meeting held yesterday at the Rogers Convention Center with 450 farm directors, Gov. Sarah Sanders said American farmers face their worst economic crisis since the 1980s and U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins described it as the worst in nearly a century. Rollins said the administration is working on trade deals and will propose direct emergency relief payments to Congress this fall—steps meant to help struggling farmers. - ➤ Reece Jones from Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said fall is near but fish still act as though it is summer, so anglers should use the right lures and fish at proper depths at lakes including Beaver Lake, Lake Fayetteville and Bella Vista — experts advise using top-water lures early and late for black bass, crappie, striped bass and walleye. - ➤ On Saturday night, the Razorbacks lost 41-35 to No. 17 Ole Miss at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium after Taylen Green became the first quarterback to throw for 300 yards and rush for 100, finishing with 305 passing yards and 115 rushing yards. The team will play Memphis on Sept.20 at 11 a.m. on ABC + face Notre Dame on Sept.27 at 11 a.m. on ABC. Fayetteville Flyer
