- ➤ The Melting Pot—a fondue restaurant chain with dozens of locations across the country—will open its first Arkansas restaurant at 5102 W. Pauline Whitaker Parkway, Suite 310 in Rogers in mid-November. KNWA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Springdale opened a new senior center in September to replace the old 20,000-square-foot facility that served seniors for decades. The center offers indoor pickleball courts + a commercial-grade kitchen that prepares meals, is open Monday through Friday, and provides transportation for those in need. 5 News
- ➤ The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced its participation in the “Put the Phone Away or Pay” campaign—an effort to reduce distracted driving and improve road safety. The move comes as national data shows 3,275 deaths in distracted driving incidents, including 611 non-vehicle related, in 2023. KNWA

- ➤ Arkansas beat Alabama 3-1 at Razorback Field in Fayetteville as forward Bella Field scored on a penalty kick in the 15th minute, forward Vailana Tu'ua scored in the 63rd minute, and midfielder Kennedy Ball added a goal in the 87th minute — the Razorbacks took 15 shots while Alabama attempted 17. - ➤ Arkansas Razorback great Darren McFadden will be honored during halftime at Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday as his iconic red No. 5 is displayed in celebration of his legacy—he is the school's all-time rushing leader and a two-time Doak Walker Award winner.
