- ➤ Starting Thursday, a group of local residents will walk over 30 miles on a three-day pilgrimage from Bentonville to Fayetteville to raise funds and awareness for chronic homelessness—organizers say the event will draw attention to the struggles faced by those in need. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Most Northwest Arkansas school districts showed strong academic performance based on the new state accountability formula last year. Haas Hall Bentonville stood out—being the only school in Arkansas to rank in the 99th percentile for achievement. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Severe weather on Oct. 18 left over 5,000 homes and businesses without power in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley—Carroll and Benton counties saw the largest outages, according to power reports. KNWA
- ➤ The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission approved an emergency order on Oct. 16 to lower trout fishing limits at Beaver Lake tailwater and other fisheries after hatchery losses cut trout production—officials say the limits, including a two-trout cap or catch-and-release rules, will remain statewide until mid-February while efforts to restore fish stocks continue. - ➤ Bentonville West's defense and special teams helped the team win when the Wolverines' offense did not do well. Coaches said key defensive plays made the difference in a close game. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ The Razorbacks are set to play Texas A&M on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN, but heavy rain and lightning nearby may delay the start—athletics staff and SEC officials follow rules like clearing the field if lightning strikes within 8 miles to keep fans safe. KNWA
- ➤ After Arkansas lost 45-42 to No. 4 Texas A&M, interim head coach Bobby Petrino and players including quarterback Taylen Green, linebacker Xavian Sorey Jr., and running back Mike Washington recapped the game at Razorback Stadium. Coach Petrino noted the defense gave up 497 total yards and highlighted Green’s rebound after a second-quarter injury — remarks made following a weather delay. KNWA
