- ➤ Folklorist Rachel Reynolds planned the Arkansas Country Blues and Stringband Festival, which returns to Springdale Nov. 14—16. The event has been a year in the making and will showcase local culture and music. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ Inspiration Point Center for the Arts will host its inaugural opera film screening in the new theater—marking the first event in a planned series. - ➤ A report from the American Lung Association showed that Arkansas ranked 47th out of 51 states for new lung cancer cases with 68.2 cases per 100,000 people—higher than the national average of 52.8.
