Good morning, Springdale. Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 8th of November.

CULTURE NEWS

  • A postcard from 1910 shows Springdale Hardware and Furniture Co. drawing a large crowd for a new product demonstration or exhibit. The German text on the card’s back—loosely translated, it asks for information from newspapers and magazines—gives a glimpse of the town's early community exchange.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Arkansas law now requires schools to teach gun safety lessons to students as young as five so they know to stop—don’t touch, leave quickly and tell an adult if they find a firearm; similar laws in Tennessee and Utah call for neutral instruction and let parents choose alternate courses. Schools may use games and videos in these lessons to help children learn how to stay safe.  KNWA
