- ➤ The KNWA/FOX24 Magical Christmas Toy Drive has returned to collect new, unwrapped toys for Northwest Arkansas kids and boost local giving as sponsors from Hank’s Fine Furniture lead the effort. Drop-off locations in Fayetteville—Fort Smith, Rogers, and Siloam Springs will accept donations during the holiday season. KNWA
- ➤ Samaritan Community Center in Rogers + Springdale hosted a free Thanksgiving meal on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families in need were welcomed as they connected with resource navigators to access additional services + receive assistance. 4029 News

- ➤ Walmart Inc. partnered with two sustainable farming companies — Kellanova and Indigo Ag — to help Arkansas rice farmers adopt new methods that improve water stewardship and grow more profitable operations. - ➤ Tyson Foods will acquire the closed Cargill turkey plant on Randall Wobbe Road in Springdale after the city council approved revenue bonds on Nov. 25 to fund its conversion into a chicken processing facility. The company plans to retrofit the plant for portioning operations—expected to employ about 200 people—and complete the upgrades over the next three years. NWA Business Journal

- ➤ The World Literacy Foundation is preparing to deliver Christmas book packs to Arkansas children from low-income backgrounds as many do not own any books. The project — in partnership with USA Reads—aims to double the 2,600 packs delivered last year to help boost early reading skills. KNWA

- ➤ With Thanksgiving fast approaching, Travis McConnell at the Brightwater Center in Bentonville advises home cooks to keep poultry cold until cooking, wash hands often, and check temperatures with a calibrated thermometer to prevent illness. He said cooking turkey to 160—165 degrees in the thickest part and not washing it can reduce cross-contamination—ensuring a safer holiday meal. 5 News
- ➤ Dr. Tina Merritt, a top alpha-gal expert from Bentonville, told 40/29 News that cases of this tick bite–triggered allergy are rising, and she urged doctors and patients to watch for symptoms such as hives and stomach pain after eating red meat—using tick checks and proper clothing to help prevent bites. 4029 News

- ➤ Today, Best Friends Animal Society invites local residents to foster a pet during the holiday season with all supplies provided. Families will return the pets on Friday, November 28 — though they may choose to keep them longer if they wish — helping shelters care for more animals. KNWA
