- ➤ A tiny grey puppy named Tusche (now Gus) beat the odds after a difficult start and joined a new litter in Northwest Arkansas; he will now thrive with Jo Carter’s family on their farm. Foster Lorie Comer played a key role in giving him a second chance at a forever home. 5 News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Public high schools in Northwest Arkansas will add more career pathway courses next year as officials plan to offer career-aligned training classes to help students learn practical skills. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ The Department of Secondary and Elementary Education is revising rules on Education Freedom Accounts after reports suggest taxpayer funds were spent on items not considered ordinary or necessary. Officials are accepting public comments by email through Dec. 16 as efforts to increase accountability continue. Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ A senior at Don Tyson School of Innovation in Springdale built an automation system using professional-grade equipment (including a touchscreen and barcode reader) to mimic distribution centers. He is now building a smaller training unit to teach other schools about automation. 5 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, ARDOT installs three anti-litter displays on I-49 in Bentonville near exit 91. One sign notes $8M spent on cleaning roads, another asks if drivers are part of the problem or solution, and a five-foot wire-lettering will fill with collected litter to remind travelers to keep Arkansas natural. 4029 News
