COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A new report shows only 14% of Christmas trees this month are naturally grown, and only 25% of these real evergreens were purchased directly at tree farms (local farms stress the greener alternative to manufactured trees). Springdale tree farms continue to promote an authentic holiday experience for residents.  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
  • Holiday events will take place across Northwest Arkansas from Dec. 12-14; Springdale will host its International Hot Cocoa Crawl from 5-8 p.m. Friday downtown while nearby towns offer parades, markets, and craft activities for families.  5 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • University of Central Arkansas joined the Springdale-based nonprofit Northwest Arkansas Council as one of 12 new members this year to expand regional educational and economic partnerships. UCA leaders say the membership will boost its influence in shaping local growth.  NWA Business Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Between Nov. 20 and Dec. 3 the Washington County Clerk’s Office recorded marriage licenses for couples in Springdale and nearby towns (including Fayetteville and Prairie Grove).  Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
