- ➤ In August, sales tax revenue for Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers and Springdale increased by 0.56% to $10.013 million compared with last year. Springdale reported $2.209 million for August—its year-to-date total climbed 6.37% despite a slight monthly dip. NWA Business Journal

- ➤ Families in northwest Arkansas who filed a lawsuit against four school districts over a state law requiring each school to display the Ten Commandments pushed to add Conway School District as a defendant after discovering the district posted the displays in every classroom despite a federal injunction—lawyers said the move aimed to stop unconstitutional religious coercion in schools. The lawsuit alleges that the mandated displays violate First Amendment rights by forcing a specific religious practice in public schools. Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
